Synopsis
The Holy Britannian Empire, a technologically powerful nation, has taken over Japan and renamed it Area 11. The Japanese are viewed as second-class citizens under British control. Lelouch Lamperouge, an apparently average Britannian prince living in Japan, sees the brutal truths of Britannian oppression. His life changes dramatically when he meets a strange woman named C.C., who bestows upon him the gift of Geass – the “power of absolute obedience” that allows him to control anyone simply by making eye contact. Fueled by a desire to revenge his mother’s death and build a world where his younger sister Nunnally might live peacefully, Lelouch adopts the masked persona of Zero and leads a rebellion against Britannia.
